The deck is built around the mysterious legend of Sky Island Airways, a supposedly exclusive luxury airline from the 1960s that offered private flights to a secluded tropical paradise known simply as Sky Island.

According to the story, the airline operated a small fleet of aircraft and transported select passengers to the island, where they could enjoy food, entertainment and relaxation away from the outside world. Then, one day, everything disappeared — the airline, its planes and even Sky Island itself.

Whether Sky Island Airways was a real airline, an elaborate hoax or simply a fascinating piece of fictional history remains unconfirmed. What supposedly survived was a small supply of playing cards given to passengers during their flights.

And that is where this extraordinary deck begins.

Vintage Aviation Design

The Sky Island Airways Playing Cards capture the atmosphere of a bygone golden age of aviation.

The card backs feature the distinctive Sky Island Airways logo accompanied by two departing aircraft, creating a clean and elegant composition with an unmistakable vintage airline aesthetic.
